Summary

AMF MEP led the Fosters Estate development in the London Borough of Hendon. The scheme spans over 15 blocks, including three-storey houses, and delivers 217 residential units, 75 of them given over to retirement living. At the centre of it is a new block of 79 units, planned around community living and built on modern mechanical and public health systems, all coordinated in 3D Revit.

Technical Innovations

The Fosters Estate project used several technical approaches:

Integrated MEP Design: Mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) systems were modelled together in Revit 3D, which kept the services coordinated and efficient across the development.

Smart Building Technologies: Intelligent systems manage energy use in the buildings, improving day-to-day living conditions and bringing down operational costs.

Sustainable Water Management: Water conservation systems were installed, including rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling.

Enhanced Insulation Techniques: Improved insulation materials and methods were used to cut energy consumption.
