The role

We are looking for an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the team. You will have a strong background in mechanical engineering with a focus on HVAC systems. The role means leading and managing teams of engineers and Revit modellers, and carrying projects from the initial design phase through to final coordination and installation.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers and Revit modellers in the design, installation and maintenance of HVAC systems.
  • Oversee the 4/5 stage design and coordination process, keeping the quality and efficiency of the output consistent across projects.
  • Develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
  • Work with clients, contractors and other stakeholders so that project requirements are met.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
  • Take up opportunities for professional development and career progression, including working towards CEng chartership.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering (within the UK Market), with a focus on HVAC systems.
  • Proven experience in 4/5 stage design and coordination.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in using Revit and other relevant software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire for career progression and professional development.
  • Aspiration to achieve Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.

  • A high level of proficiency in English is essential for this role, as the work depends on clear communication within the team and with our clients.
